Policies & Procedures: Information
You Need to Know
LegUp Dog Walking
and Pet Care prides itself in conducting our business not only in a caring
manner, but in a professional manner as well. Below we have listed what
we feel are the most important policies and procedures you need to know
in order to feel safe and secure with LegUp and our services. Please familiarize
yourself with the information below, and if you have any questions or

Administering Medications
Your LegUp representative can attempt simple
medication and pilling procedures on a "best effort" basis.
More invasive procedures involving insulin injections should be conducted
by a veterinary technician. Since there are some animals that will not
allow themselves to be pilled, if, in the opinion of the pet sitter, more
harm than good will result from medicine administration, your pet will
not receive the medicine and you will be notified. If you believe your
pet will be difficult to pill or medicate, you should contact a veterinary
technician or other individual who specializes in this type of activity.

Scheduling
LegUp schedules all dog walking and other services each Thursday for the
following week. Dog walks are scheduled to take place between the hours
of 8am and 4pm. If you have a specific day and/or time that must be adhered
to in a specific week, please notify LegUp prior to the Thursday scheduling.

Cancellations
and Rescheduling
With the majority of our services taking place
between 8am and 4pm, we will expect that your pet is available in that
timeframe for the service(s) they are scheduled to receive. To cancel
or reschedule a service, we ask that you please notify us within 24-hours
of the appointment. If we do not receive 24-hours notification of your
pet’s unavailability or absence from your home on the scheduled
day of service, LegUp charges 50% of the scheduled service(s) fee. (Example: You will be billed $10.00 for a $20.00 Group Dog Walk should no cancellation be received.)
Should a cancellation of service be required on our end, we will alert
you with 24-hours notice so you can make alternative arrangements if needed.
If we contact you with less than 24-hours notice or if we miss an appointment
due to circumstances out of our control (such as car trouble), you will
be credited for the service and it will be completed free of charge at
a later date.

Extreme Weather
LegUp loves walking dogs in the rain, but sometimes
Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with us. If the walker, once arriving
at your home, judges that the weather may endanger the dog and walker
(such as debris-scattering gale force winds or hail), we will notify you
and let you know that we will not be walking the dog that day and that
we will be rescheduling.

3-Strike Rule
In the best interest of our clients and their
pets, our employees, and the general public, LegUp strictly enforces a
“3-Strike” rule: If your dog is maliciously aggressive or
violent towards another animal or human on 3 occasions, they will no longer
be able to participate in dog-walking activities. Pet Taxi and
other non dog-walking services are still available to dogs that have received
3 strikes. Please note that LegUp reserves the right to cancel a dog’s
walking privileges prior to the 3rd strike should we feel it is in the
best interest and safety to all parties to do so.

Payment Methods
We accept checks, money orders, cash payments and all major credit cards through PayPal.
At the end of your monthly billing period, an invoice will be left at
your home. Payment may either be left for the LegUp representative to pick up, mailed to the business address, or remitted via PayPal.

Delinquent Payments
A balance unpaid within 60 days of invoicing will be considered a delinquent payment and all services required will be suspended until payment is made in full. A $35 charge is added for each month a payment is delinquent.
